William Graham Tullian Tchividjian (pronounced cha-vi-jin), is the senior pastor of one of America’s most well-known churches, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, a Lecturer of Pastoral Theology at Knox Theological Seminary, a contributing editor to Leadership Journal, and the grandson of Evangelist Billy Graham. He is a graduate of Columbia International University and Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando.
Tullian is a best-selling author, having written several books, the most recent, One Way Love: God’s Inexhaustible Grace for an Exhausted World was released in October 2013. Other titles include, Glorious Ruin: How Suffering Sets You Free, and Jesus + Nothing = Everything, which won Christianity Today’s book of the year in 2012.
Tullian has appeared on CBS News, Fox and Friends, Morning Joe, Sean Hannity, and the 700 Club. He has also written for the Washington Post, Huffington Post, Christianity Today, and a host of other print outlets. As a respected pastor, author, and sought after conference speaker, Tullian is singularly and passionately devoted to seeing people set free by the amazing power of God’s grace.
A South Florida native, Tullian has been married to his wife Kim since 1994 and they have three children: Gabe, Nate, and Genna.
Steve Brown is a radio broadcaster, seminary professor and author. He previously served as a pastor for over twenty-five years and now devotes much of his time to the radio broadcast, Key Life, where he has become known for his refreshing and practical Biblical applications. Steve serves as Professor Emeritus of Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at Reformed Theological Seminary, and he sits on the board of the National Religious Broadcasters and Harvest USA. Traveling extensively, Steve is a much-in-demand speaker. He is the author of numerous books including A Scandalous Freedom, What Was I Thinking?, and Approaching God. His articles appear in magazines and journals such as Leadership, Decision, Plain Truth and Today’s Christian Woman.
Elyse Fitzpatrick has been counseling women since 1989. She holds a certificate in Biblical Counseling from CCEF (San Diego) and an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary, and is a member of the National Association of Nouthetic Counseling. Elyse is the author of numerous books including the award winning Women Helping Women and When Good Kids Make Bad Choices. A frequent speaker at women’s conferences, she has been married to Phil for over 30 years—they have three adult children and six grandchildren.
Elyse and her husband are members of Valley Center Community Church, a reformed congregation in the community of Valley Center.
With colleague John Stonestreet, Metaxas is the voice of BreakPoint, a radio commentary, broadcast on 1,400 outlets with an audience of eight million.
Metaxas was the keynote speaker at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC. He is the 2011 recipient of the Canterbury Medal awarded by the Becket Fund for Religious Freedom. In September 2013, Eric and his wife Susanne were jointly awarded the Human Life Review’s “Great Defender of Life Award.”
In a decidedly eclectic career, Metaxas has written for VeggieTales, Chuck Colson, and the New York Times. A best-selling author, Eric’s works have been translated into many languages. Most recently, 7 Men and the Secret of their Greatness, was published by Thomas Nelson (2013).
Metaxas is a frequently featured cultural commentator on CNN and Fox News, and has discussed his books on The History Channel, C-Span’s Book TV, Glenn Beck, and Hannity & Colmes. He has also been featured on a host of radio programs.
Ray Cortese is a native of Miami, Florida, and a 1983 graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA. He has been the Pastor of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church, located in Lecanto, Florida (70 miles north of Tampa) since it began 30 years ago. A large part of the ministry of SRPC is Seven Rivers Christian School, serving families and students from Pre K3 thru 12th grade. He is married to Diane and they have 4 grown children and several grandchildren.
J.D. Greear is the lead pastor of The Summit Church, in Raleigh-Durham, NC and author of Gospel: Recovering the Power that Made Christianity Revolutionary (2011) and Stop Asking Jesus into Your Heart: How to Know for Sure You Are Saved (2013). Two main things characterize The Summit Church: its gospel focus and sending culture.
J.D. has led the Summit to further the kingdom of God by pursuing a bold vision to plant one thousand new churches by the year 2050. In the last ten years, the church has sent out more than 300 people to serve on church planting teams, both domestically and internationally. J.D. completed his Ph.D. in Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is also a faculty member, writing on the correlations between early church presentations of the gospel and Islamic theology. Having lived and served among Muslims, he has a burden to see them, as well as every nation on earth, come to know and love the salvation of God in Christ.
He and his beautiful wife Veronica live in Raleigh, NC and are raising four ridiculously cute kids: Kharis, Alethia, Ryah, and Adon.
Paul David Tripp is a pastor, author, and international conference speaker. He is the president of Paul Tripp Ministries and works to connect the transforming power of Jesus Christ to everyday life. This vision has led Paul to write 14 books on Christian living and travel around the world preaching and teaching. Paul’s driving passion is to help people understand how the gospel of Jesus Christ speaks with practical hope into all the things people face in this broken world.
Derwin L. Gray is the founding and Lead Pastor of Transformation Church a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, mission-shaped community with two campuses in South Carolina (Indian Land and Rock Hill), both just south of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Gray met his wife, Vicki, at Brigham Young University BYU and has been married for 21 years. They have two children, Presley and Jeremiah. After graduating from BYU, he played professional football in the NFL for five years with the Indianapolis Colts (1993-1997) and one year with the Carolina Panthers (1998). He then graduated from Southern Evangelical Seminary magna cum laude, with a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Apologetics. While there he was mentored by renowned theologian and philosopher Dr. Norman Geisler. Gray is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in New Testament Context at Northern Seminary. He’s recognized by many as The Evangelism Linebacker and is a highly sought-after communicator. Gray is the author of Hero: Unleashing God’s Power in a Man’s Heart (2009) and Limitless Life: You Are More Than Your Past When God Holds Your Future, released September 2013 (www.LimitlessLifeBook.com).
Born in Kampala, Uganda, and raised in East and West Africa, and a boarding school in the New Forest, Sally Lloyd-Jones is a children’s book writer who moved to the United States in 1989. She worked in children’s book publishing for several years before leaving in 2000 to write full-time. She has authored numerous books, including the critically acclaimed New York Times Bestseller, How to be a Baby…by Me, the Big Sister as well as Christianity Today’s Children’s Bible Storybook of Choice: The Jesus Storybook Bible. Of the storybook she says, “I wrote this book so children could know that God loves them—with a never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love.” Sally lives in Manhattan.
Scotty Smith is Founding Pastor of Christ Community Church, in Franklin TN—a PCA church he planted with friends in 1986. After pastoring CCC for 26 years, Scotty resigned from the staff in May, 2012, to serve the larger church with his preaching, teaching and writing. He has recently taken the position of Teacher in Residence at West End Community Church, Nashville—a daughter church of Christ Community. Scotty also serves as an adjunct faculty member for Covenant Theological Seminary; Westminster Theological Seminary; Philadelphia, Redeemer Seminary, Dallas; and RTS, Orlando. Scotty is a graduate of the University of North Carolina (BA), Westminster Seminary (MAR) and Covenant Seminary (D Min.). Scotty has written 6 books, including Unveiled Hope, Objects of His Affection, and Everyday Prayers. Scotty and his wife, Darlene, have been married 41 years, and have two adult children, Kristin and Scott, and one grandson, Finn. Scotty loves fishing, photography, exercise, his wife, cooking and the gospel, not necessarily in that order.
David Zahl is the Director of Mockingbird Ministries and Editor-in-Chief of the Mockingbird blog. Born in New York City and brought up elsewhere, David graduated from Georgetown University in 2001 with a B.A. in History and German, and then served for five years as an itinerant youth minister with FOCUS (Fellowship Of Christians in Universities and Schools), restarting their New England Boarding Schools region. He left in 2007 to found Mockingbird in New York City. David and his wife Cate currently reside in Charlottesville, VA, with their son Charlie, where David also serves on the staff of Christ Episcopal Church.
Justin Holcomb is Adjunct Professor of Theology and Philosophy at Reformed Theological Seminary and previously taught at the University of Virginia. Justin holds two masters degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Emory University.
Justin wrote On the Grace of God. He and his wife, Lindsey, are authors of Save Me from Violence: Hope and Healing for Victims of Domestic Violence and Rid of My Disgrace: Hope and Healing for Victims of Sexual Assault. He is also the editor of Christian Theologies of Scripture: A Comparative Introduction (NYU Press, 2006).
Justin serves on the boards of REST (Real Escape from the Sex Trade) and GRACE (Godly Response to Abuse in Christian Environments). He also serves on the council board of the Biblical Counseling Coalition.
Dr. Jonathan Linebaugh is Dean of Students, Assistant Professor of New Testament at Knox Theological Seminary
Born, raised, and educated on the East Coast, Dr. Linebaugh completed his PhD at Durham University in England. Before coming to Knox, he taught graduate students at Trinity School for Ministry and undergraduates at Durham University. Dr. Linebaugh is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature. He is ordained in the Anglican Communion and tries to connect his academic theology with service in and for the church, not least through his role as Director of Content for Liberatenet.org. His research and writing have focused primarily on the letters of Paul, but his interests and teaching include the historical and theological context of the New Testament, the history of interpreting scripture, and the intersection between exegesis and systematic theology.
When not teaching and writing, he enjoys spending time with his family, surfing, playing and watching lacrosse and basketball, reading, and traveling.
Jessica Thompson has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. She co-authored Give Them Grace with her mother, Elyse Fitzpatrick. Her newest book, Exploring Grace Together: 40 Devotionals for Families, is due to come out in February of 2014. She holds to the truth that salvation is “naked confidence in the mercy of God.” She has been married for 18 years to her high school sweetheart. Together they have three kids ranging in age from 14-9.
Cameron Cole is the founder and chairman of Rooted: Advancing Grace-Driven Student Ministry. He has served as Director of Youth Ministries at Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, AL since December of 2005. Cameron writes prolifically on the importance of Gospel centrality in ministry to young people and has published articles on the blogs for Youth Specialties, the Gospel Coalition, Mockingbird, and Modern Reformation. Cameron attended Wake Forest University for both undergraduate and graduate school and presently is pursuing a seminary degree through Reformed Theological Seminary.
He and his wife Lauren are parents of a son, Cameron Jr. (2010 – 2013), and a daughter, Mary Matthews, born in 2012.
The Reverend John Zahl serves as Priest Associate at Grace Episcopal Church in Charlestown, South Carolina. He grew up in New York City, and attended seminary at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford (UK). His book Grace in Addiction: The Good News of Alcoholics Anonymous for Everybody was released in November 2013. John is a regular contributor to Mockingbird Ministries and an avid film buff. He also moonlights on occasion as a DJ, specializing in Cosmic-Disco and Italo-Funk. He is married to Deirdre, and has a two-year-old daughter, Daphne.
